Dumpster Rental & Service Scheduling System

A dumpster rental and servicing company was coordinating deliveries, pickups, and driver assignments largely by phone and paper schedule — workable at a small scale, but increasingly hard to manage as their client base and fleet grew.

We built an MS Access system around the day-to-day realities of the business: a client database tracking contact information, billing details, service history, and preferences like dumpster size and rental period; a services catalog covering rental, pickup, drop-off, and add-on services with pricing; and driver records with certification details and scheduling preferences. The centerpiece is a visual, color-coded scheduling calendar that lays out deliveries, pickups, and other service appointments at a glance, with automated notifications keeping clients and drivers in the loop on upcoming jobs.

Reporting rounds out the system, with customizable reports on revenue, service utilization, and client activity that give the owner a real read on how the business is performing rather than relying on gut feel. Replacing phone-and-paper coordination with a searchable client database and a visual scheduling calendar cut down on missed appointments and made day-to-day dispatching far less chaotic.
